It is impossible to imagine the race calendar without the golden and popular classic. On the first part as well as the final stage, the 42.7 km classic runs on the trails of the Diamond Run.
The ITRA (International Trail Running Association) is an international sports association that is dedicated to the worldwide promotion and development of trail running. Finishers of the Gold Run receive 2 ITRA points.
The extremely popular mountain marathon is a classic. The trail leads through the charming valleys of Dischma and Sertig and over the former mule track over the Scaletta Pass and finally the Sertig Pass, where you descend past the beautiful Sertig Dörfli back to Davos.
The route starts at the sports center in Davos and leads through Davos' longest side valley, the Dischma Valley. With a view of the Scaletta Glacier, the trail continues up the Scaletta Pass via the unique Panormatrail to the Sertig Pass, the highest point of the route at 2,739 m. Steeply, the rough trail leads downhill past the Grüensee lake to the Sertig Dörfli. From there it goes out of the valley through larch and fir forests to the village of Clavadel and on to Davos, where the finish awaits you at the sports center.
